Shabbat Shalom! Join Us for Riverway Shabbat at Temple Israel

The Riverway Project at Temple Israel invites you to our monthly Riverway Shabbat on Friday, June 13.

Dinner & Service Details:

• 6:45 p.m.: Kosher-style Shabbat dinner for all in their 20s & 30s. The cost is $18 per person. Dinner is free for Temple Israel members.
• 8:00 p.m.: Stay for our inclusive and musical Shabbat service! This service is open to everyone and free to attend.
• After the service, join us for a dessert reception to mingle with friends old and new—also free for all!

During our service we will hear from Idit Klein. Idit is a national leader for social change with more than 30 years of experience in the non-profit justice sector. Since 2001, she has served as the President and CEO of Keshet, the national organization for LGBTQ equality in Jewish life. Under her leadership, Keshet has grown from a local initiative to a multi-million-dollar organization with offices in six states, empowering Jewish communities across the country to embrace and champion LGBTQ+ inclusion.

Idit has created transformative programs for queer Jewish teens, spearheaded national advocacy efforts, and produced the documentary Hineini: Coming Out in a Jewish High School. Her prior work includes roles in the Israeli-Palestinian peace movement and the Israeli LGBTQ+ community, where she helped envision the Jerusalem Open House. A graduate of Yale and UMass Amherst, Idit continues to be a leading voice in the Jewish and LGBTQ press and serves on the board of the Jewish Social Justice Roundtable.
