There are so many wonderful offerings available for Jewish youth engagement, and we are happy to help connect you to them. If you have questions or want to discuss any programs listed here or other opportunities for your child, email the Education Team.
Temple Israel of Boston students from kindergarten through 12th grade attend more than a dozen different Jewish summer camps, most of which are right here in New England. As a Union of Reform Judaism institution, we have a special relationship with URJ overnight camps.
Temple Israel of Boston is able to grant scholarships to our families toward Jewish summer camp tuition thanks to funds established by generous donors. Many camps and travel programs also have their own scholarships.
The Foundation for Jewish Camp, in partnership with Combined Jewish Philanthropies, offers significant resources for first-time campers at Jewish overnight summer camps through their “One Happy Camper” program. Through this program, first-time campers can receive up to a $1,000 grant.
Israel Travel Opportunities
We strongly encourage our teens to participate in one of the many excellent Israel travel programs offered each year. Teens can travel to Israel with The Tent (link to Tent page), our teen program, in their junior or senior years. We also encourage our teens to consider a trip with NFTY-in-Israel which will connect our teens to other Reform youth from across North America.
Passport to Israel
To help with the cost of Israel travel programs, Temple Israel of Boston has partnered with Combined Jewish Philanthropies through the Myra and Robert Kraft Passport to Israel Program. Passport to Israel is a unique savings program designed such that your family, Temple Israel of Boston, and Combined Jewish Philanthropies will all contribute to the cost of your teen’s experience in Israel.
