Qabbalat Shabbat Honoring Ann Abrams
Share
Gather with us onsite or online for Qabbalat Shabbat. All are welcome to join this service full of prayer, meditation, and music!
After 39 incredible years of dedicated service, our beloved librarian Ann Abrams is retiring. We invite you to join us in celebrating this remarkable milestone and honoring Ann for her unwavering commitment to our community. Join us for Qabbalat Shabbat, with a special celebration to follow. We will gather to share stories, celebrate the many ways Ann has impacted our community, and express our gratitude. Dinner will be served.
We are celebrating Ann Abrams by donating books to More Than Words (MTW) in her honor. Please drop off a maximum of five books at Temple Israel through June 21st at noon. See MTW's website for donation FAQ. MTW is a nonprofit social enterprise empowering system-involved young adults to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business. From its South End and Waltham bookstores and online through eBay, MTW sells new and gently-used books, while giving its young employees paid jobs and life skills education. “LibraryAnn’s” lifelong engagement with the written word is honored with love with this gift from the “people of the books.” We will have the chance to see all of the donations as centerpieces on the tables for dinner at Shabbat on June 21st before they are sent to MTW.
If you are joining us online, register here to join us on Zoom, or log on via Facebook Live or Temple Israel’s livestream.
