Never learned to chant Torah or want to improve your skills? We are excited to co-sponsor this Torah reading workshop with Hadar Boston making it free for you! Taught by local expert Torah reader and teacher Shira Fischer, this learning series will meet 5 times. The first and last sessions will meet in-person at Lehrhaus, and the middle three sessions will be virtual.
Dates: Wednesdays evenings March 6 - April 3.
The second, third, and fourth session will meet virtually from 7:30-8:30PM.
Prerequisites: Reading printed Hebrew out loud
This is a great opportunity to grow the skills in our community and deepen our bench of Torah readers. We highly encourage you to signup using this link by March 1st.
By day, Shira H. Fischer is a physician policy researcher focusing on health information technology research. Outside of work, she is involved in the Jewish community in her home community of Washington Square Minyan and is also active in local politics as a Brookline Town Meeting Member. Shira first learned to read Torah at Solomon Schechter Day School, where her children are now students (and budding layners!), and she used to read Torah at Kehilat Hadar in its early days when she would visit New York City. Shira has since taught Torah reading and other Jewish learning topics in various settings and was formerly an AJWS Dvar Tzedek fellow. Shira and her husband live in Brookline with their three children with whom they spend each summer in Israel.
