Join us online on Thursday, March 23 a 11:00 a.m. ET for a lecture on Freedom of Speech led by Harvey Silverglate.
Harvey Silverglate, a criminal defense and civil liberties lawyer based in Cambridge, graduated from Harvard Law School in 1967. From the very start of his long career, he has practiced criminal defense, free speech, and academic freedom law. He also has a second career as an author. Among his books have beenThe Shadow University: The Betrayal of Liberty on America’s Campuses(with Professor Alan Charles Kors, 1997), and Three Felonies a Day: How the Feds Target the Innocent(2009, updated 2011). He has been a free speech absolutist since he began practicing law in 1967, and in his talk he’ll explain why.
