We’ve all heard that antisemitism is on the rise, in the United States and worldwide. But what exactly is antisemitism – and why is that question so hard to answer, especially when it comes to conversations about Israel/Palestine? How can we identify and fight antisemitism while also protecting freedom of speech? Join Drs. Alon Confino (UMass Amherst) and Rebecca Kobrin (Columbia University) for a discussion about the Jerusalem Declaration on Antisemitism (JDA), a scholarly document that can serve as a guide for understanding what antisemitism is – and what it isn’t.

Kobrin and Confino will discuss their involvement with the JDA, the personal and scholarly meaning it holds for them, and the wider context of contestation over the definition of antisemitism around the world. Emma Saltzberg of the JDA Project - USA will facilitate.

This online event is free and open to all.  Contact Brigid Goggin at bgoggin@tisrael.org with questions.
