The Book of Proverbs: The Midrash of Life, with Rabbi Elaine Zecher

Those in search of wisdom and meaning will discover more than inspiration with the Book of Proverbs.  Join Rabbi Elaine Zecher as we mine the verses and their content to achieve exactly what the beginning verses of Proverbs provide: to know wisdom and understand discerning maxims; to accept the reproof of insight, righteousness, justice and uprightness; to challenge the simple…and gain learning. 

We will dive deeply not just into the structure but the ultimate messages set forth on multiple layers and topics, such as the definition of wisdom, good and evil; family affairs and social justice; truth and discord, and the spirit of humanity.  Proverbs contains it all and even more than that.  We will use the Midrash on Proverbs as a preliminary guide as we uncover and contemplate our own understanding and creative abilities to delve into this ancient yet very contemporary Biblical literature.

No previous experience with Proverbs necessary except for the many maxims of life you have already discovered for yourself. New students welcome to join any time.
