Celebrate the season with Bean-to-Gelt, a deliciously engaging workshop that weaves together the story of chocolate, Jewish tradition, and the joy of Chanukah. In this 2–3 hour hands-on experience, participants will:
- Discover the rich history of chocolate and its surprising connections to Jewish culture
- Create chocolate from scratch — “bean-to-gelt” — crafting something meaningful (and tasty!) with their own hands
Share in a fun, multi-generational experience perfect for adults, families, or youth groups.
Alex Voynow is a Jewish educator with nearly a decade of experience leading immersive, ecological educational programs. He has led programming and educator training at Wilderness Torah, the Jewish Farm School, Eden Village Summer Camp, Teva Learning Center, and the Jewish Farmer Network, and is now a Master's in Education candidate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Before his career in education, Alex was a full-time chocolate maker and tour guide at Dandelion Chocolate. Alex finds joy in breathing new life into Jewish traditions, and Bean-to-Gelt is one sweet example.
