Tisha B'Av is the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Av, observed as a communal day of fasting and mourning, in remembrance of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. Over time, the solemnity of Tisha B'Av has allowed Jews to reflect thoughtfully on the painful times of challenge and danger throughout history. This powerful day is still relevant to Judaism 2000 years later. Rabbi Andrew Oberstein and Cantor Alicia Stillman will lead our candle-lit service with soft singing, discussion, and the chanting of the book of Lamentations, the anguished recounting by Jeremiah of watching his beloved city burn.

The Tisha B'Av service is sponsored jointly by Temple Israel of Boston, Temple Sinai, and Temple Ohabei Shalom. Join in this Jewish moment with us.
