Yiddish Culture Through Song with Adah Hetko

Join us Tuesday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m. online or onsite at Temple Israel for an introduction to the wonderful world of Yiddish culture with Yiddish singer/songwriter Adah Hetko. As Adah guides us through a selection of her favorite Yiddish poems, we will learn about the life and times of the poets (including Rokhl Korn, Morris Rosenfeld, Anna Margolin, and more), discuss the symbols and sounds of Yiddish poetry, and hear live performances of the selected works set to music. This class will be mixed presence with options to participate online via zoom or onsite at Temple Israel.
