Jewish Feminist Thought: Unfinished Agendas, New Directions

Half a century ago, Jewish feminist activists began a quest to transform Jewish life. In many ways they were successful: access to Jewish tradition and leadership no longer excluded women and LGBTQ people. But feminist activists also sought to expose the conceptual structures underlying social and religious exclusion. How have we fared on that front? How has Jewish religious ideas about God, religious authority, gender and bodies shifted as a result of feminist changes in Jewish life?
