Praise be Adonai to whom praise is due, now and forever!

INTENTION

The Bar’chu is our call to prayer. We began by opening our voices and hearts with song and are now poised to enter into the next part of our service. This short prayer is actually a conversation between the prayer leader and the congregation, asking the congregation, ‘are you ready in your heart and mind to begin in earnest prayer?’ The second line is the congregation’s response, ‘Yes! We are ready!’
