SHABBAT TZEDEK WITH RENÉE GRAHAM
January 15, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
Join us for an inspirational Shabbat Tzedek, a Sabbath of Justice, on Friday, January 15 at 6:00 p.m. to celebrate the legacy and values of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This year we will be joined virtually by Renée Graham, who will lead a discussion with featured local leaders about the challenges that face our community, and how we can enact meaningful change. Renée Graham is an award-winning opinion columnist and associate editor for the Boston Globe. She writes on a variety of subjects including race and racism, domestic violence, LGBTQ issues, police misconduct, gun reform, and politics. She is also a regular contributor on WBUR-FM’s news affairs program, Radio Boston, as well as WGBH’s Basic Black.
Featured guests for Shabbat Tzedek include State Senator Sonia Chang-Díaz, Imam Taymullah Abdur-Rahman, and Organizer Nadav David.
We welcome all who enter our space!
We are an inclusive community and we strive to celebrate the diverse pathways which lead individuals to enter our building.
We hope to create an environment where you can express your full self – including religious background, race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, political affiliation, ability, age, sexual orientation, and gender identity.
The Temple Israel community will not tolerate discrimination of any kind – if you experience or witness any such behavior, please alert a Temple Israel employee or officer.

“At the heart of Temple Israel is the search for true connection: to ourselves, to others, and to something bigger than ourselves. Now, more than ever, Temple Israel holds us in its heart. I am so grateful to “see” and hear our clergy, our teachers, our fellow members virtually and be uplifted together through creativity, optimism, energy and compassion.”
