75 Years of Independence: Israel at a Crossroads

On Sunday, June 11, 2023 we gathered with former Israeli Consul General to New England and current J Street Israel Director, Nadav Tamir, and New Israel Fund VP of Public Engagement Libby Lenkinski, to reaffirm our community’s support for Israel as a democratic homeland for the Jewish people, which is at peace with its neighbors, including Palestinians; and explore what we in the American Jewish community can do to support that vision in the face of current realities. We will hear from Israelis working to promote justice and democracy at home and American political leaders working to ensure US diplomacy supports the same goals.

Speakers: Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA-2) and Rep. Lori Trahan (D-MA-3) in conversation with Nadav Tamir; Noa Sattath (Executive Director, Association for Civil Rights in Israel) in conversation with Libby Lenkinski

Presented by: Temple Israel of Boston, New Israel Fund & J Street

Honorary Congressional Host Committee (in formation): Democratic Whip Katherine Clark, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Edward Markey, and Representatives Jim McGovern, Stephen Lynch, Bill Keating, Seth Moulton, Ayanna Pressley, and Lori Trahan.
