Join us onsite or online on Tuesday, April 2nd, 7:00 pm—8:30 pm for the Temple Israel Progressive Israel Caucus Book Group.
This week's topic is an hour-long video lecture and a recent article from Atlantic magazine with provocative conclusions, based on attendees' suggestions addressing the issue of anti-Semitism. The lecture is by Professor Dov Waxman of UCLA, formerly of Northeastern, and a colleague of one of our TI members. Professor Waxman brings an academic yet nuanced approach to a currently polarized issue. We will be discussing only the first hour of the video. We will also read, “The Golden Age of American Jews is Ending” by Franklin Foer, which appeared in the April 2024 edition of Atlantic magazine. The article proposes that, “Anti-Semitism on the right and the left threatens to bring to a close an unprecedented period of safety and prosperity for Jewish Americans—and demolish the liberal order they helped establish.”
