It was a great start of the new school year! We have got a taste of many things we would be doing in our classroom throughout the year. We had conversations, read stories, played games and made art. We talked about Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur – new beginnings in our lives and striving to be better. “Why do we need rules?” was an interesting discussion followed by creating our classroom Brit-contract. Each student signed it using a Hebrew letter stamp that starts their name. Each student also made a picture ‘all about Ani – myself”, and then we talked about how each of us is different and unique but also a part of our classroom and school community. We played Hebrew word game, so that your children could see how much Hebrew they already know and use. Visit to the sukkah with rabbi Jacobson and rabbi Zecher was a lot of fun – singing, laughing and shaking a lulav!
It was wonderful to see many of you at the Consecration ceremony and Simchat Torah celebration! It felt special to be part of the beginning of your children’s Jewish journey!
