TILLI Summer Session - Politics and Gerrymandering in Massachusetts with Jordan Berg Powers

Join us for a conversation with Jordan Berg Powers (he/him), who has served as Executive Director of MassAlliance for over a decade. He has helped elect new progressive leaders across the state, recruited progressive champions to run, and trained hundreds of grassroots organizers. Using his expertise in talking to ordinary voters about progressive policy, Jordan is active in campaigns for saving public education, environmental justice, and a more progressive tax system for the Commonwealth. He conducts training across the state on understanding government, advocating, grassroots campaigning, messaging, and political power. 

In a conversation moderated by Sandy Wixted, Jordan will provide an inside look into the politics and gerrymandering happening right here in Massachusetts.

The struggle to vote and to making every vote count is central to what happens both at the local and national levels. Yet, we watch as state legislatures alter voting rules and redistrict their state maps to further restrict access to voting. Where does democracy go from here?
