The freedom to vote is affected by a wide array of laws and court rulings – some lesser known than others. Join Karen Levit, National Civil Rights Councel for the Anti-Defamation League for an overview of federal legislation and Supreme Court rulings that will shed light on how we got here, recent developments at the Supreme Court, and current efforts to pass national election standards and combat state attacks on our freedom to vote. Moderated by Natalie Schatz.

This event is offered as part of the TILLI Summer Session 2022, featuring a series of programs that address recent attacks on the democratic process. The struggle to vote and to making every vote count is central to what happens both at the local and national levels. Yet, we watch as state legislatures alter voting rules and redistrict their state maps to further restrict access to voting. Where does democracy go from here? All TILLI Summer Sessions are free and open to all.
