The God(s) of Judaism, with Rabbi Or Rose

Judaism is widely regarded as the world's first great monotheistic tradition. What is not widely known is that Jewish thinkers throughout the ages have held very different views of God. Is the Divine all-powerful and all-knowing? What about evil? Can human actions impact God? From the Hebrew Bible to Maimonides to Abraham Joshua Heschel, these questions have been answered in a variety of ways. In some cases, these answers are radically different!

Join Rabbi Or Rose for this unique historical and theological journey, as we explore writings from different time periods and genres of Jewish thought, including art, music, and poetry. As we survey these diverse sources, we will ask ourselves how these works might inform our own understandings of theology, history, and creativity.
