Qabbalat Shabbat: Onsite and Online

Friday, January 14

6:00 p.m. Join us for an inspirational Shabbat Tzedek, a Sabbath of Justice, to celebrate the values of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with honored guest Rachael Rollins, U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts. This service is open to people of all faiths. No need to register; just come! Or join on Zoom, on Facebook Live, or stream on our website.

See the program for this event.

After services, all are invited to take home delicious cuisine from our Black-owned restaurant partners Zaz and Fresh Food Generation courtesy of Temple Israel.

For those in their 20s and 30s: Rabbi Oberstein will be hosting an online Riverway Zoom oneg, offering us a chance to connect after services.

About Rachael Rollins: Rachael Rollins is the first woman elected as District Attorney in Suffolk County and the first woman of color elected District Attorney in Massachusetts. Since taking office in 2019, Rollins has implemented humane and data-supported policies, focusing her limited resources on the most violent and serious crimes and keeping Suffolk County safe. Over 240 years of wrongful convictions, and counting, have been overturned by her initiatives. In July 2021, President Biden nominated Rollins to be the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts. On December 8, 2021, the United States Senate voted to confirm Rollins, and on January 10, she was sworn in, the first Black woman to serve as the top federal prosecutor in the Commonwealth.
