Democracy Tuesdays

Help turn out the vote! Democracy is non-partisan; so is our effort.

Join us on Democracy Tuesdays, beginning July 14, 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., to write, call voters, and work together in community!

We are officially underway with our Democracy Summer 2026 campaign to defend the right to vote and strengthen our democracy. We hope every member of our community will make a commitment to participate in at least one activity this summer and fall. Everyone can do something.

The first step is to sign up for letters or postcards. These are two very effective ways to help protect the vote and can be done on your own schedule or with others. Letters and postcards will be available for pickup by next week at Temple Israel or at one of our four neighborhood porch pickup sites.

This year, our efforts will focus on Ohio and Georgia, two critical states in the 2026 elections. Together with the Religious Action Center, VoteRiders, Center for Common Ground, and VoProPros, there are many ways to get involved:

• Write VoteRiders letters to help Ohio voters obtain the identification they need to vote.
• Write Center for Common Ground postcards encouraging Black voters in Georgia to vote early and participate.
• Join VoProPros in voter protection efforts, including poll observing, voter assistance, ballot curing, and research.
• Join our phone banking and texting team to encourage voter participation and help resolve registration or identification issues.
• Join us on Democracy Tuesdays at Temple Israel, beginning July 14, 4:00–6:30 p.m., to write, call voters, and work together in community. Come for as much time as you can.
