TILLI Summer Session - Online Tour of Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina

June 16, 2022

11:00 AM - 12:30 PM EDT

Join TILLI (Temple Israel Lifelong Learning Institute) for an online tour led by a museum docent of the exhibit In The Shadow of Monet: Giverny and American Impressionism at the Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina.

In 1883, French Impressionist painter Claude Monet settled in Giverny, a village nestled at the confluence of the Seine and Epte rivers. Glimpses of the new, still-radical Impressionist style inspired American artists who traveled to Giverny and home again for four decades at the turn of the 20th century, transforming the American art scene. This exhibition features over 50 artists, including Giverny Colony founders Willard Metcalf and Louis Ritter, as well as Richard Edward Miller, Lilla Cabot Perry, John Singer Sargent, Mary Fairchild MacMonnies, and Guy Rose.

This is an online event via Zoom. Please register here to get the Zoom link. Contact Ann Abrams at tilli@tisrael.org with questions.

This event is offered as part of the TILLI Summer Session 2022. All TILLI Summer Sessions are free and open to all.
