Qabbalat Shabbat: Friday, 6:00 p.m. Torah Study: Saturday, 9:00-11:00 a.m. Weekday Minyan: 6:15 p.m.

with Ilya Vidrin and Jessi Stegall
Tuesday, February 25 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
No cost, open to the public.

This workshop offers a platform to explore the roots of physical interaction in a world increasingly disconnected from the body. Through guided physical practice, shared reflection, and facilitated dialogue, we will combine the practice of dancing together with the focus of questions designed to challenge and enhance interaction. The unique approach includes exercises to engage with subtle elements of movement, including touch, proximity, and mutual gaze. No prior dance experience necessary.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: Ilya Vidrin and Jessi Stegall

Born into a refugee family, Ilya Vidrin’s work engages directly with the social ethics of human interaction, including practices of empathy, cultural competence, and social responsibility. Ilya is the founder and director of the Partnering Lab and the arts-based nonprofit organization, Reciprocity Collaborative. Jessi Stegall is a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for Performing and Visual Arts. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Expressive Therapy from Lesley University, where she developed formal practice facilitating creative self-expression in clinical and educational settings. Ilya and Jessi formed a partnership in early 2019. Since meeting, they have worked together in artistic residencies at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, the Boston Harbor Islands, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Harvard University ArtLab. In 2020, they will perform at the International Conference on Medicine and Music, the New Museum in New York City, the Providence Dance Festival, and the Centre for Dance Research in the United Kingdom. Ilya and Jessi currently teach together in the Harvard University Dance Program.
