Executive Director

Dan Deutsch is a 2000 graduate of the University of Massachusetts – Amherst, where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Operations Management. He subsequently received an MBA from Northeastern University. Until 2008, Dan worked in the private sector, his last position as project manager at American Express. That year, he switched to working in the Jewish community, which better reflected his interests and his values. Dan became Director of Israel Programs at Young Judaea where he ran Israel travel programs for high school and college students. In 2010, Dan was hired as vice president of the JCC Maccabi Experience for the JCC Association of North America. In that position, he managed the Maccabi Games, ArtsFest, and JCC Maccabi Israel Programs, which are athletic, artistic, and travel programs for over 4,000 participants annually. Dan lives with his wife Amy, and their two young children, Abigail and Benjamin.

Helen has been in the forefront of shaping the direction of early childhood education in the Boston area for many years. She is the Founding Director of the Frances Jacobson Early Childhood Center at Temple Israel, where she has served as Executive Director since 1994. She has been instrumental in developing early childhood curricula and has trained both graduate and undergraduate students at Wheelock and Hebrew Colleges, and is a former board member of The Boston Association for the Education of Young Children. Helen has also taught at a graduate level in Singapore training future directors and people in leadership positions. Helen’s work with parents, on a daily basis as well as in more formal settings such as workshops, lectures and parenting programs, enables her to understand the challenges of parenting and how to best to be a support.
